This book is the culmination of the work of an international multi-year research seminar held by the Lyon-based laboratory “Éducation, culture, politiques” (Education, Culture, Policies – ECP), which was devoted to, under the scientific responsibility of Pierre Champollion, for three years between 2017 and 2019, the study of the multidisciplinary theme “education, territorialities and territories” involving, in addition to its own researchers (universities of Lyon 2 and Jean-Monnet de Saint-Étienne), researchers from six other French and European universities (Barcelona, Caen, Corsica, Geneva, Lisbon and Lorraine). Within this international research framework, this book brings together 12 original contributions, written by nine different researchers, from four distinct fields of human and social sciences (HSS) (geography, psychology, education sciences and training, and information and communication sciences), belonging to seven different1 research laboratories, both French and European (Spain, Portugal and Switzerland). All based on the analysis of data, either unpublished or not yet exploited, these 12 contributions, complementary to each other by their themes and approaches, together draw the outlines – and investigate the substance – of the current scientific map of the general theme “education and territories.
